Game Mechanics & Rules

First Strike is a three-stage card-drafting duel played from a single 52-card deck. Across three stages you and the dealer each build a three-card hand, one card at a time. Each stage deals a six-card board: you pick one card, then the dealer's AI picks one from the remaining cards. The stage 1 and stage 3 boards are dealt face-up and you choose by card; the stage 2 board is dealt face-down and you choose by position, with the card's identity revealed once you commit it. After three picks each, the two three-card hands are compared under three-card hand rankings (straight flush > three of a kind > straight > flush > pair > high card, where a straight outranks a flush). The dealer must qualify with a pair or better: if the dealer fails to qualify, the main bet pushes and your stake is returned. When the dealer qualifies, the higher three-card hand wins. The main bet pays even money 1:1 on a win, pushes on a tie, and loses when the dealer's hand ranks higher. First Strike is an original game, created and developed in-house, and you will only find it on our sites.

  1. Place your main bet. Optionally add either or both side bets: Strike Bonus (pays on the three-card hand you end up building) and Board Burst (pays on the first three cards of the stage 1 board).
  2. The stage 1 board deals six cards face-up. Pick one to start your hand; the dealer's AI then takes one of the remaining cards.
  3. The stage 2 board deals six cards face-down. Choose a position; the card's identity is revealed as you commit it to your hand, and the dealer draws again.
  4. The stage 3 board deals six cards face-up. Pick your third card to complete your three-card hand, and the dealer completes theirs.
  5. Both three-card hands are ranked. The dealer must hold a pair or better to qualify; if not, the main bet pushes and your stake is returned.
  6. When the dealer qualifies, the higher hand wins. The main bet pays 1:1 even money on a win and returns your stake on a tie. Side bets settle on their own paytables, independent of the main result.

If an operator closes a stuck hand, or scheduled cleanup closes a paid Millionaire hand with a saved admission receipt after 24 hours, your main wager is lost and eligible side bets and Millionaire prizes settle from the recorded cards and award; other unfinished hands remain open.

Bets and Payouts

One 52-card deck, three-card hands built over three drafted stages. The main bet pays 1:1 even money when you beat a dealer who qualifies with a pair or better; a dealer worse than a pair pushes the main bet and returns your stake. Two optional side bets settle independently: Strike Bonus scores the three-card hand you build, and Board Burst scores the first three cards of the stage 1 board, deterministic from the deal and independent of which cards you pick.

Optimal Strategy & Analysis

Stage 1: take the highest card on the board. The dealer then takes the highest card left, so you never start behind.

Stage 2 is face-down, so every position is equal. Pick any spot.

Stage 3 is where blocking comes in. You pick before the dealer, and the dealer always takes the card that makes its best hand. Before you take the card that helps you most, check which card would most likely help the dealer. When taking that card costs you little, take it: the dealer cannot have it.

You can see the dealer's first card but not its second, so weigh the dealer's likely hands rather than one certain hand.

The dealer needs a pair or better to qualify, and a dealer without one pushes your main bet. Taking away the card that would let the dealer qualify can be worth more than a small upgrade to your own hand.

Millionaire Mode Technical Details

Millionaire Mode is a paid $1 Royal Spades side bet added to every round. Main-table payouts are NOT reduced. The required main wager must meet the displayed Millionaire Mode minimum.

Each round, the card sample selected for the side bet is checked. The Royal Spades are the six top spades - 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace of spades. Every distinct Royal Spade in the sample counts as one hit; a repeated rank does not count twice and printed jokers never count.

Paytable per $1 side bet: 6 hits = $1,000,000; 5 hits = $5,000; 4 hits = $325; 3 hits = $20; 2 hits = $2; 0 or 1 hits pay nothing.

The $1,000,000 prize is pre-funded and paid in a single transaction on six hits. Lower tiers pay alongside the round settlement. Royal Spades pays separately whether your main bet wins or loses.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is First Strike and how does it work?

First Strike is a three-stage card-drafting duel invented and built in-house. You and the dealer each build a three-card hand from three six-card boards: the first and last boards are dealt face-up, the middle one face-down. The higher hand wins even money when the dealer qualifies with a pair or better.

How does Millionaire Mode function in First Strike?

Millionaire Mode is a paid $1 Royal Spades side bet per round. Main-table payouts are NOT reduced. Each round the selected card sample is checked; every distinct Royal Spade - 9, 10, J, Q, K, A of spades - is one hit (printed jokers never count). Paytable: 6 hits = $1,000,000, 5 = $5,000, 4 = $325, 3 = $20, 2 = $2, 0-1 = no payout. The jackpot is pre-funded.

How can I verify First Strike is provably fair?

Every result is provably fair; check any round in the fairness panel.

Which cryptocurrencies are accepted for First Strike?

Deposits are made in crypto, and the cashier lists the coins accepted. You play First Strike in whichever of your balances you select, and every stake and payout is settled in that currency. Withdrawals return on-chain to a wallet address you nominate at cash-out time, subject to standard network confirmation.

What is the mathematically optimal strategy for First Strike?

Take the highest card at stage 1. At stage 3 you pick before the dealer, and the dealer takes the card that makes its best hand, so check which card would most likely help the dealer and take it when that costs you little.
